Natural bracelet with Aquamarine and Howlite / Aquamarine and Howlite bracelet
Healing properties of howlite
Howlite is reassuring because it encourages "live and let live", letting go of attachments that cause stress and encouraging you to enjoy life as it is without worrying about what others are doing. This, in turn, promotes true relaxation, which is why it is known to help with insomnia.
Howlite as a gemstone
Howlite is white and gray with dark gray marbling. It is a relatively recently discovered mineral found by gypsum miners. It is a soft stone, approximately 3.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness (between calcite and fluorite).
Howlite is always white and gray in its natural state, but because it is porous, it is often dyed in different colors. It is most often dyed blue to imitate turquoise, as the veining pattern gives it a superficial resemblance. For this reason, howlite is sometimes called "white turquoise", but is not really related to turquoise. Other names are "buffalo stone".
